Digital Design Unit
DDU invites students to program visions and explore possibilities with algorithms. Studying architecture means to invent problems in the first place instead of solving them only with conventional methods.
DDU wants to enable students to help shape social and technological change. DDU conveys the concepts, technologies and visions that will shape our society and architecture in the future and reconstructs lost cultural and technological treasures in digital form. Students first learn 3D modelling, algorithmic and parametric design principles and their implementation by means of digital fabrication. This knowledge forms the basis for an in-depth examination of computer-based design strategies for more complex problems and digital reconstructions.
