Mehrzad Esmaeili is a research associate and Ph.D. researcher in the field of computational design and digital fabrication at the Technical University of Darmstadt (Digital Design Unit - DDU).

He has a masters' degree in "Architectural Technology" from the University of Tehran, and he has tutored several workshops and courses at the universities and institutions in Iran. He received the World Architecture Award (WA Award) in the student category for the "A house in Yazd for an architect" project. Besides the academic background, he has experience in designing and constructing several architectural and interior design projects. He worked with the architectural firm "Hasteh Negar Co." in Tehran for almost two years.

As a multidisciplinary person, he is excited to discover other fields of study and bring technological achievements in the architectural field. His current research focuses on artificial intelligence and using the potentials of AI in solving design problems.
