ZirKuS project start
DDU kicks off new research project „ZirKuS“, funded by DBU
2025/11/12
The Digital Design Unit (DDU) is pleased to announce the launch of a new research project in the field of circular construction: “ZirKuS – Circular Construction and Structural Design of Reused Concrete Components.” Together with an interdisciplinary team, we are addressing the practical preparation and reuse of reinforced concrete components.
Building on the completed research project “Fertigteil 2.0,” ZirKuS investigates dismantled concrete components that are digitally recorded, structurally analyzed, reconditioned with newly developed reversible connections, and reassembled into an experimental building. The project aims to transfer research into real planning and construction practice, demonstrating pathways toward resource-efficient, circular building methods.
