Iyad Ghazal is a DAAD-funded doctoral researcher at the Digital Design Unit (DDU), focusing on modular design for productive facades. His work emphasizes the integration of sustainability with advanced digital fabrication techniques.

He holds an MSc in Digital Architecture and Design from the University of Sheffield, UK, which he earned as a recipient of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship. Before starting his PhD, Iyad spent four years as a lecturer at An-Najah National University in Palestine, teaching design studios, computer-aided design, and digital architecture, where he helped shape the skills of future architects.

Iyad’s professional interests include sustainable architecture, green building technologies, 3D printing, and digital fabrication. His passion for these fields has led him to participate in numerous international events and competitions, where his innovative contributions have been recognized and awarded.
